The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is a great novel with hilarious jokes, charming characters, the most beautiful woman in the world, a guy who risks his life as much, "As you wish" in order to save his girl, and, of course, true love. How could anyone pass that up?
Anywho, the characters really were one of a kind, and even though this book was published decades ago, you wouldn't know it. You can read it over and over and over and over again.  And it's still just as brilliant as before!! Read this book ASAP or you'll regret it! (And yes, as always, it's better than the movie)
Romance: 5/5  (Of course)
Action: 5/5
Overall Quality: 5/5
It's funny, it's full of action and romance; And I mean, who couldn't love Westley the handsome farm boy? :P

This novel is a fantastically awesome read! It's the first book in the series by Scott Westerfield and it is about a futuristic dystopian society where severe cosmetic surgery is performed on all of the citizens upon their 16th birthday, turning them into "Pretties". Before that, they are called, "Uglies" and they are not even allowed into the same area as "Pretties", along with being told that they are worthless. The book addresses serious topics that have been exasperated in the book to show just how bad society may become if we don't stop putting such a heavy emphasis on body image and how we're "supposed" to look (Emphasis on the quotes).
If you love novels with strong main characters, who overcome the challenges that inevitability get thrown at us, then this is the perfect read for you! Plus, it has sequels, and who doesn't love a good sequel?

Divergent is destined to be the next big dystopian trilogy for teens. Packed full of action and romance, it displays a bold main character, Tris, who shines through with confidence and courage, while still portraying the weaknesses that dwell in us all. And standing next to Tris is always the handsome Four, with a mysterious personality that you just simply can't get enough of.
I couldn't bring myself to stop reading any of the books in the series, and without a doubt it's one of my favorites! I recommend this wholeheartedly. This book started off as not very popular, but it has an ever-growing community of fans. A movie is currently under production with the main roles being played by Shailene Woodley and Theo James; it is set to be released March 21, 2014, shortly after the release of Alliegant (the third book).
1st Book: Divergent By Veronica Roth (Released)
2nd Book: Insurgent By Veronica Roth (Released)
3rd Book: Alliegant By Veronica Roth (To be released October 22nd, 2013)
Let me know in the comment section if you enjoyed any of the books in this trilogy!

Chew On This

Chew On This is a great book that addresses our nation's problem's about obesity, along with having some fun facts about the famous fast food joints we have all come to know. It's by the same author who wrote Fast Food Nation, the highly acclaimed New York Times Best-Seller. Although this was a great book, it also had lots of disgusting facts about what we eat, which really affected how you make your decisions when going to places like McDonald's. For example, one chicken nugget can be made from the meat of hundreds of different animals. It's a must read; I highly recommend this book.

To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is a timeless feat of human nature in writing. It quickly became my new favorite book, and I couldn't recommend anything more. Most people I talk to have heard of it, but not necessarily read it, or not necessarily read it in a long time. Sometimes you enjoy it more if you read it outside of school, when it's not assigned reading. This book is definitely a 5/5, without a doubt, and the quicker you can get your hands on a copy of this classic novel, the better.

Thirteenth Child

Thirteenth Child is a great book by Patricia C. Wrede who also wrote The Enchanted Forest Chronicles: Dealing With Dragons, etc. It's about Eff, a thirteenth child, who happens to be the elder twin of Lan, a seventh son of a seventh son. The book talks about, Eff mainly but also Lan, growing up in Mill City which is a town right by the magical border. In Mill City (and the rest of the world) everyone has magic and is sheltered by a magical border against wild animals. These animals are also magical and very few try to brave against them, but Eff wants to. It's finale is exciting and demonstrates how everyone in the story has really grown up to be talented people. It's continued by a second book: Across the Great Barrier. .
Out of 5:
Romance: None, but a few mentions of future possibilities.

Boy in the Striped Pajamas

This book is from the view point of a nine year old, taking place in World War Two. The son of a military commander in Hitler's forces gets moved near one of the camps they had for any Jewish people, and the boy finds the fence seperating them. The boy meets another boy and, even through a fence, they become friends. The whole book is interesting to read through the eyes of a nine year old because you can tell what he's talking about, but he doesn't understand it. John Boyne's Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a great read and I'd recommend it to anybody.
Out Of Five:
Romance: None
